The Code Alarm 440TW for $199 plus install is a remote start that is simple to install. The unit is a no frills basic 2 way remote start system....yet does its job very well. The 2 way remote has no screen....but the icon lights up with different patterns to let the user know what is happening with the system. The unit also comes with a 1 way remote as a backup.
The unit comes prewired with a 2nd ignition.....but nothing else. There is no starter kill or any of the other negative trigger outputs that one would hope. That means 2nd accessory, 3rd ignition, and 2nd starter wiring would have to jump off of the primary harness. Not a horrible thing to have to do......just takes more relays and diodes to properly isolate the wires. The unit does have a disarm trigger and a rearm trigger as well.
Installation is easy and painless.......many of the main harness wires match DEI color codes. The setup menus are easy to get into and negotiate, making programing a breeze.
The Code Alarm 440TW for $199 plus install is a great basic 2 way unit......maybe a little pricey for a unit this basic......but a solid piece that's very reliable.
